"I entered into the program at the E. M. Jellinek Center in July of 2006. When I arrived at the center I had a desire to stay sober, however, I had very little idea about how to accomplish this goal. I had very little hope and my future seemed to be in an extremely precarious state. Nevertheless, I resolved to submit myself to the program at the E. M. Jellinek Center to the best of my abilities. I learned how to live again at the center. They taught me how to be a repsectable, responsible, productive member of society. They received me into the center "sight unseen" and they believed in me when my back was against the wall. While at the center I earned my bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee. I now live a happy, successful, independent life and am working towards my masters degree. The center changed my life forever for the better and every time I revisit the center I always feel at home. The E. M. Jellinek Center is so important because it helps to stop the cycle of addiction, reoffending, and relapse."

"I had nothing when I came to the E. M. Jellinek Center. I had everything when I left. I was nothing when I arrived; when I drove away two years later, I was something. I was somebody. I was a Jellinek man. It's a label I wear with pride today, and it colors everything that I do: How I treat other people, how I treat myself and how I live my life. I'd like to believe that I left Jellinek a little better than I found it, and I continue to live by that code in my life today, as do so many other men who came to Jellinek beaten, broken, devoid of money and self-esteem and love. It gave us a life, and it gave us a home. It continues to do so today, and those who pass through it's doors and come out the other side as new men - as Jellinek men - are profoundly and forever grateful."

"When I arrived at the E. M. Jellinek Center my life was in shambles. Everything prior to arriving was lost to my addiction, just short of my very life! I had become a failure as a result of a seemingly hopeless disease. I was taught how to live again at the center. I learned how to follow the simple rules of life. I learned values, dignity, and respect. I became a part of something much greater than myself that today continues to be the guiding force in my life. Today my life reflects the teachings while at the center. The broken soul who entrusted his life to the loving care of this place in now a man mended of demons of the past. I have no reservation that I received a priceless gift from the loving principles given to me at the E. M. Jellinek Center."
